Celebrating the completion of the Child’s Avenue Sidewalk Project

This sidewalk links Weaver Middle School to Golden Valley High School. Childs Avenue is a busy street and now students have a safe way to get to and from school and families have more mobility in their neighborhood.The total cost for design and construction was just over $1 million dollars.

The city first applied for this project in June 2021. City Council accepted the PE funding in August 2022. City Council accepted construction funding in January 2024.

Redstone construction built the sidewalk and did a great job.
